As part of an ongoing effort to update their Peakshaver facilities, National Grid retained CH∙IV to perform a study to modernize their electrical system at the Providence facility. The study included providing a conceptual design and budgetary pricing to modernize their electrical feed equipment including new transformers, switchgear, a backup generator and Motor Control Centers. The study also considered improving reliability of the power system, making sure that the power feed and backup capacity would be adequate for planned upgrades to the facility, and designing the system to be minimally impacted by a 500-year flood event
