National Grid recently demolished an outdated LNG storage tank and is undergoing an alternatives evaluation to determine the most cost-effective manner of providing natural gas to customers, including options of new pipeline, tank replacement, and a greenfield LNG peakshaving facility. National Grid employed CH∙IV to complete an evaluation of reconstructing an LNG storage tank at the Cumberland brownfield location, including a siting analysis per the latest DOT PHMSA criteria, to determine what level of mitigation would be required to permit the facility and comply with the current federal regulations.
